What are class codes, and how do I use them?

The class code feature enables students to join classes without requiring an administrator or teacher to manually add them.

When an admin creates a new class, they can enable the class code option. Once the assigned teacher shares the code with students, they can join the class directly, simplifying setup.

Before Generating a Class Code

Admins need to ensure classes have been created. Learn how to add a class to your account.


How to Enable and Disable a Class Code

  1. Log in to your admin account.

  2. Go to the Students menu at the top and select Classes.

  3. Select the class.

  4. Click Add student and choose Enable class code.

  5. A unique class code will be generated.

  6. To disable a class code, go to the class page, open the Add student dropdown, and select Disable class code.


How to Share the Class Code

  1. Log in to your account.

  2. Go to the Students menu and select Classes.

  3. Select the class.

  4. Copy the class code and share it with your students.


How Students Join a Class Using a Class Code

  1. Log in to the student account.

  2. Click on the profile avatar in the upper right, then select My Profile.

  3. Click Join a class at the bottom of the page.

  4. Enter the class code and click Submit.


Updating a Class Code

To change a class code, go to the class page, select Add students, and choose Update class code. A new code will be generated.


Notes

  • Students can view their class information at the bottom of their My profile page.

  • Once the code is submitted, students are automatically added to the class.

  • Admins and teachers can view and manage students from the class page.

  • Admins and teachers can update the class code.
