Generating certificates

Reward students for their achievements with TTRS certificates

Custom certificates can be generated to motivate students and reward progress in the TTRS course. Certificates can be sent digitally via email or printed.


There are four types of certificates available in TTRS:

  1. Level certificates

  2. Subject certificates

  3. General progress certificates

  4. Course completion certificates

Level and subject certificates can only be generated once a student completes a level or subject. Course completion certificates become available when all 24 levels have been completed. General progress certificates can be generated at any time.

When you select General progress from the list of certificates, you must further specify the reason for the award. Choose between: Regular typing practice, Maintaining the home row position, Developing typing technique, Completing Main Course modules, Completing Subject modules, Reviewing modules, Strengthening spelling skills, Strengthening reading skills or select Custom achievement and add the achievement in the box provided.

You can also choose you preferred certificate style and include a comment and/or signature.


Ways to generate certificates

Certificates can be generated differently depending on your subscription type.

For Schools

  1. Log in to your administrator account and select Students from the top menu.

  2. Select the checkbox next to the student or students you would like to generate certificates for***.

  3. Open the Actions dropdown menu and select Generate certificates.

  4. Certificates can also be generated from a specific student’s profile. In the Students menu, choose a student, click the Actions dropdown, and select Generate certificate.

  5. Select the certificate type from the dropdown menu.

  6. You can choose to include additional metrics such as Average Accuracy and Words Per Minute by ticking the relevant checkboxes on each certificate. These options are selected by default, so untick them if you don't want them displayed.

  7. Choose a certificate style, add a signature or custom comment and click Generate. The certificate(s) will be available to download and will also be sent to your registered email address. If the student has an email address associated with their profile, you can switch on the toggle to send the certificate electronically.

  8. Download the certificates to your computer.

    *Please note, if you select more than 15 students, you will be notified by email when your certificates are ready and provided with a link where you can download them as a zip file.

For Home and homeschool accounts

  1. From your administrator dashboard, select Students from the top menu.

  2. Select the checkbox next to the student or students you would like to generate certificates for.

  3. You can also generate certificates from an individual student’s page. From the Students menu, select the student from the list, open the Actions dropdown, and choose Generate certificate.

  4. Select the certificate type from the dropdown menu.

  5. You can choose to include additional metrics such as Average Accuracy and Words Per Minute by ticking the relevant checkboxes on each certificate. These options are selected by default, so untick them if you don't want them displayed.

  6. Choose a certificate style, add a signature or custom comment and click Generate. The certificate(s) will be available to download and will also be sent to your registered email address. If the student has an email address associated with their profile, you can switch on the toggle to send the certificate electronically.

  7. Download the certificates to your computer.
