If the words in a TTRS typing module can't be seen, it's likely you're in a dictation module which relies only on the auditory element to reinforce learning. Every 5th module in the course is set as a dictation module, and you can enable dictation mode in other modules as well - learn more here.
When you are in a dictation exercise, press and hold number 5 on the keyboard to temporarily view a word.
If the dictation module is too challenging or you want it to become a regular typing module so you can see the words, quit the activity and toggle the DICT icon off from the Level Overview screen.
