Touch-type Read and Spell is fully compatible with iPads and most Android tablets when accessed through a web browser. Please ensure a compatible Bluetooth keyboard is connected to your device.
Note: The course will not run on mobile phones, as it requires a desktop view and an external keyboard.
Using Android tablets
On some Android tablets, you may need to force desktop view to access the course properly. Switching your browser to Desktop mode allows the browser to simulate a desktop environment, enabling features that might otherwise be restricted on mobile or tablet versions. Check your browser settings for an option to toggle on Desktop mode and refresh the page to see if typing functionality becomes available.
To enable desktop view in Chrome:
1. Open Chrome and navigate to the TTRS website.
2. Tap the menu (three dots in the top right corner).
3. Select “Desktop site.”
Using iPads
You can access the course using the Safari browser, just as you would on a desktop.
Please note: A keyboard is required to access and complete modules. Certain modules, such as Module 1, may display a message indicating, "To access the full TTRS course please login again using a computer or download the iPad app." Downloading the TTRS iPad app can provide a more reliable and feature-complete solution compared to browser access.
Using Amazon Fire Tablets
Amazon Fire tablets can be used with the default Silk browser. Ensure that desktop view is enabled and that a compatible Bluetooth keyboard is connected. For further assistance, switching to Desktop mode or consulting the TTRS support team might resolve lingering technical concerns. If you encounter any typing glitches or unexpected behavior, consider checking the device's keyboard or language settings and making adjustments to align with typing requirements in TTRS.
