Is TTRS approved for students who are eligible for Disabled Student Allowance (DSA)?

TTRS has been approved by Student Finance England so it can be recommended by needs assessors to be funded via a student’s Disabled Student Allowance.

What is the process?

You can apply for Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSAs) to cover some of the extra costs you have because of a mental health problem, long term illness, or any other disability.

You can get the allowances on top of your other student finance cover. You will not need to repay DSAs.

If you are eligible for DSA please speak with your needs assessor about TTRS.

If your assessor feels that TTRS fulfils an essential need to support your studies, it will be approved for funding and your TTRS subscription will be set up for the length of your studies.

How will TTRS help me as a student with dyslexia or other learning difficulties?

TTRS will empower you with the typing skills you need to carry out your assignments using a computer.

It will also support your literacy skills which are essential to all courses studied. TTRS is a highly structured course and is based on the textbook "Alpha to Omega" which is designed for students with dyslexia.

TTRS is regularly seen to increase students’ confidence, self-esteem, and motivation to learn.
