Colours

Fonts options
The following fonts can be selected:
Arial (default)
Comic sans
Open sans
Open Dyslexic (recommended for dyslexic students)
Copy Typing
Copy typing ‘on’ (default)
This shows a line of words on the screen and then the words are typed underneath.
2. Copy typing ‘off’. This option is sometimes known as ‘shadowing’. With this option you have the advantage of looking just at the word you are working on, and you do not have to shift your eyes from one word to another, thus re-enforcing the spelling image.
One mistake option
If turned ‘On’ – This will prevent ‘runaway’ of a letter if a key is held too long on some keyboards. This will also improve and reflect correct scores.
Your students will now only make one mistake or ‘red letter’ before they have to press backspace and enter the correct letter.
We recommend this option is left on.
Remember and Repeat
Remember and Repeat
Off (default) All the words appear as normal as you type.
On. Once typed, the word then disappears, and has to be typed again from memory. This is similar to the ‘look, cover, spell and check’ method used when learning spellings in the traditional manner. It is suggested that this option be used when you begin to reach words that you find difficult to spell. If you cannot remember what the next letter is, press 5 on your keyboard to view the word, then press the SPACE BAR to get back to the typing screen and back space once to realign the typing point.
Keyboard and Hand colors
Choose between ‘Light’ and ‘Dark’ options. (default Light)
Hands
There is the option to have one hand on the keyboard. Default is two hands.
Praise
At the end of each successfully completed module the student receives a round of applause if they obtain a score of 90% or above.
If this is not required, it can be switched off by selecting ‘Off’ for the Praise Option.
Backspace option
(Default off)
(On) – When a mistake is made, the word ‘backspace’ is spoken, therefore encouraging student to delete incorrect letter.
Spacebar
Choose which thumb is shown on the screen for the spacebar. (Default: Right thumb)
Training
The initial training modules introduces each student to the structure of the course at his or her own pace. Each training module is indicated with the letter ‘t’ on the levels page.
Voice
Choose between three options:
UK Male (Default UK clients)
UK Female
USA Male (Default US clients)

This turns the sound of the voice on or off. (default on)

Speak whole sentence
WPM Scale Settings and WPM option
The scale on the left hand side shows Words Per Minute.
It can be set to show different ranges as your speed increases (i.e. 30 wpm, 50 wpm or 70 wpm). It is, however, unlikely that you will need to increase it as you will be learning new words all through the course, and that will inevitably slow you down. Only when you are typing sentences is your speed likely to increase.
WPM = Words Per Minute
Gross (Default) = The gross typing speed is calculated by taking all the word typed and dividing by the time it took to complete the words in minutes.
Literal = Measures the words per minute irrespective of the length of the word.
