TTRS Classic is the original desktop version of Touch-type Read and Spell for Windows computers. While most users now access TTRS through the web-based platform and mobile devices, TTRS Classic is still available for customers who have an existing licence and require the desktop application.
What is TTRS Classic?
This is the original Windows desktop version of Touch-type Read and Spell. It delivers the same structured, multi-sensory typing course and can be used offline once installed and activated with a valid licence key.
Today, most customers use the latest web-based version or the TTRS iPad app, which offer the newest features and ongoing updates. The desktop version remains available for customers with an existing licence who require the Windows application.

This version of the program is primarily intended for:
Prisons and correctional education programs that require an offline solution to help users develop their typing, reading and spelling skills..
Users in environments with limited or no internet access.
Note: New customers are encouraged to use the latest web-based version of TTRS, available through their online account.
Download TTRS Classic
Request the installer
Contact the TTRS Support team to request the download link and your registration (license) key. The registration key must be generated by TTRS Support who will provide a unique registration key containing the organization name, the main contact's name, the licensed number of students, and the subscription expiry date for each installation.
Download the installer to your Windows computer.
Install TTRS Classic
Complete the installation
Open the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
Complete the installation to activate TTRS Classic.
Note: Because TTRS Classic uses a legacy installer, you may occasionally see repeated prompts or brief pauses during the installation process. Continue following the on-screen instructions until the installation is complete. If you need any assistance, please contact the TTRS Support team.
