Instructions for Needs Assessors and Approved Assistive Technology Suppliers

How to set up a student who qualifies for DSA with a TTRS subscription

Written by Harry Alexandre

If you are a Needs Assessor or approved Assistive Technology (AT) Supplier working with a student who qualifies for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA), you can easily arrange a Touch-type Read and Spell (TTRS) subscription on their behalf. TTRS supports students with neurodiverse needs—such as dyslexia—by developing touch-typing fluency and reinforcing literacy skills essential for higher education.

Setting up a student account and billing

  • Complete the DSA request form: When a student is eligible for support and would benefit from TTRS, complete our dedicated online request form with their details to initiate their individual subscription and arrange billing through your centre or organization.

  • Automatic establishment setup: Completing the form for the first time automatically registers your assessment centre or organization as an education establishment within the TTRS system.

  • Ongoing account management: Once submitted, the individual student account will be configured for the approved duration of their studies so they can begin using TTRS immediately.

If you need assistance completing the form or have specific invoicing requirements for your organization, please contact our support team at support@readandspell.com.
